Volcano Hotel is one of the smallest country hotels in Iceland. It is located in the southern most area of Iceland, in the beautiful surroundings of Mýrdalur valley.  Volcano Hotel lies between the amazing black beaches and the strikingly beautiful volcano glacier, Mýrdalsjökull, home of the magnificent volcano Katla.

Volcano Hotel is in a building that previously performed as the primary school for the area, but was redesigned in 2011 as a hotel.  

Volcano Hotel is in only 170 km distance from the capital of Iceland, Reykjavík. The next village, the village of Vík is 12 km east of our hotel. In the village is a gas station, swimming pool, a small shop and an ATM. 

Volcano Hotel is just by the main road (the official ring road) around Iceland.  Coming from the east or the west, we are very easy to find. 

The area around Volcano Hotel is breathtakingly beautiful and many of the best known natural wonders of Iceland are in minutes drive from us; Eyjafjallajökull, Dyrhólaey and Skógafoss.
